It was also remade into Bengali in 2011, under the title "Bhagya Debata", starring Jeet, Madalsa Sharma and Rajatabha Dutta. The film became a huge commercial success upon its release on December 23, 2011. A Telugu remake was also made with Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, which was released on 12 June 2016.A sequel to "Enthiran" is currently under production, titled 2.0. The film will feature Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti while Akshay Kumar will play the antagonist role of Pakshirajan. Amy Jackson is returning for this film as well. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. The film began principal photography on 1 October 2017 and is releasing on 29 November 2018 (which was later postponed).
